Up to seven-storey timber structures were added to the top of the existing structures. Because the buildings were light and slender, stability and overturning of the prefabricated timber racking panels were the key design issues that ICC resolved with the timber specialist SticX.
By integrating the existing within the new, the development makes the best use of the derelict buildings, whilst providing the same contemporary feel as nearby buildings.
